Write on the Beach - AREA WRITERS WELCOME - "Write on the Beach", one of the most successful national writing conferences, now in its seventh year of billing itself as "THE retreat for serious writers", is permanently relocating to Branson, Missouri beginning with its 2004 Session, according to Jim Harris, co-founder of Write on the Beach (WOTB). The 2004 session will begin on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 and conclude on Sunday, February 8.

WOTB will be held at the Grand Plaza Hotel, one of Branson, Missouri's finest hotel/conference centers. "In addition to the sleeping arrangements for our attendees, the hotel has dedicated its entire convention floor to our retreat for the first week of February," Harris said, "which means that we will finally have all the amenities, space and comfort that was lacking for our growing attendance on the beach." Harris further stated that a contest is now underway within the WOTB alumni to rename the writers' retreat to more accurately represent the permanent relocation to Branson.

The basic format of WOTB was designed specifically to assist "serious writers" with improvement of their writing skills and the advancement of their careers. This format has been consistent since the initial session and will not change in Branson. Attendees range from non-published writers attempting to hone their skills or gain insight into the inner workings of the publishing industry, to multi-published authors who are seeking assistance with such problems as plot development or character traits.

Each year WOTB brings a selection of "Guest Hosts," acknowledged industry experts who are generally editors, publishers, agents, marketing directors, screenwriters, producers, book doctors, writing instructors, etc., who conduct group sessions and panel discussions. However, what sets WOTB apart from other conferences is that our Guest Hosts also provide one-on-one tutoring, as requested, and actually spend time during the week guiding the author through his/her particular problematic area. "The ratio of Writer to Guest Host is generally in the range of five to one," Harris stated, "meaning that an attendee has almost unlimited access to the assistance he/she needs during the session, and not from just one expert, but from all our Guest Hosts in attendance if an author so desires."

Guest Hosts are now being confirmed and are listed, along with their backgrounds, at www.writeonthebeach.com which will be updated as others are added. Other information regarding accommodations, pricing, etc. is also available on the Website or by contacting Jim Harris at jch90@yahoo.com or 417-239-1125, or c/o Paragon Media Corporation, 3027 West Highway 76, Suite D, Branson, MO. 65616.
